What it says it does

Voice of Da Voiceless Inc. requires tax-exempt status to ensure that the maximum amount of funding received is used directly for community programs and services rather than federal income taxes. As a nonprofit organization focused on youth development mentorship violence prevention educational support and community outreach tax exemption allows the organization to expand services to underserved children and families in need. Tax-exempt status also increases eligibility for grants foundation funding and corporate sponsorships as many funding sources require proof of 501c3 status before awarding support. In addition donors are more likely to contribute when donations are tax-deductible. Maintaining tax-exempt status strengthens transparency accountability and public trust while helping the organization sustain and grow programs that positively impact the community.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.
