Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $637,752 spent. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PROGRAM: EACH YEAR, 900,000 PATIENTS WILL SEEK HELP FOR EARLY PREGNANCY LOSS CONCERNS IN THEIR LOCAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, YET MOST ER TEAMS ARE UNPREPARED TO ADDRESS THE EMOTIONAL AND GRIEF ASPECTS OF THESE LOSSES. WOMEN'S COMMUNITY CLINICS ARE SIMILARLY UNPREPARED. THE INSTITUTE'S INNOVATIVE EMERGENCY CARE PROGRAM TEACHES A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH WITH 94% OF LEARNERS DEMONSTRATING POSITIVE IMPROVEMENT IN AREAS SUCH AS DISCHARGE PLANNING, BEREAVEMENT CARE PRACTICES, AND PATIENT-CENTERED CARE. 15 LOCATIONS WERE ADDED IN 2025 BRINGING THE TOTAL TO 47 HOSPITALS AND COMMUNITY CLINICS PARTICIPATING IN THIS INTENSIVE AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAM. 84.5% OF THE EMERGENCY CARE PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY FOUNDATIONS, 12% IS SUPPORTED BY INDIVIDUAL DONORS, AND 3.5% IS RECEIVED FROM TRAINING FEES.
  2. $233,842 spent. REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE EDUCATION: EACH YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 2.4 MILLION REPRODUCTIVE LOSSES (MISCARRIAGE, ABORTION, STILLBIRTH, AND EARLY INFANT DEATH) OCCUR IN THE U.S. STUDIES SHOW UP TO 60% OF BEREAVED PARENTS EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, AND PTSD WITHIN TWO YEARS. DESPITE THIS, THERE IS A NOTABLE ABSENCE OF REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE EDUCATION. THE INSTITUTE OF REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE PROVIDES EVIDENCE-BASED, TRAUMA-INFORMED EDUCATION TO MEET THIS NEED. IN 2025, 14,956 HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS COMPLETED OUR ACCREDITED EDUCATIONAL COURSES. SINCE EACH PROFESSIONAL IS ESTIMATED TO INFLUENCE AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE EACH YEAR, CLOSE TO 150,000 INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES RECEIVED CARE, HELPING THEM TO SET A HEALTHY GRIEVING TRAJECTORY. 100% OF REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE EDUCATION IS SUPPORTED BY INDIVIDUAL DONORS.
  3. $106,292 spent. INSTITUTE OF REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE HAS BECOME A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR REPRODUCTIVE LOSS RESEARCH CONNECTING RESEARCHERS, ACADEMICS, AND PRACTITIONERS TO EACH OTHER AND PROVIDING A PLATFORM TO DISSEMINATE THE LATEST PUBLISHED STUDIES. IN 2025, 377 HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS REGISTERED FOR OUR RESEARCH IN ACTION WEBINAR SERIES AND OVER 200 PARTICIPATED IN OUR ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM. ADDITIONALLY, 3 RESEARCH MANUSCRIPTS WERE SUBMITTED TO PEER-REVIEWED JOURNALS FOR PUBLICATION. 84% OF SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH IS SUPPORTED BY INDIVIDUAL DONORS AND 16% IS RECEIVED THROUGH SYMPOSIUM SPONSORSHIPS.
  4. $85,034 spent. RGCARE5 SCREENER: RESEARCH INDICATES THAT REPRODUCTIVE LOSS IS ASSOCIATED WITH DELAYED OR PROLONGED GRIEF REACTIONS. THE LACK OF A PRACTICAL CLINICAL SCREENER TO ASSESS GRIEF SYMPTOMS NEGATIVELY COMPOUNDS THIS SITUATION. TO ADDRESS THIS GAP IN CARE, INSTITUTE OF REPRODUCTIVE GRIEF CARE DEVELOPED A 5-QUESTION SCREENER, RGCARE5 SCREENER. DURING 2025, IN COLLABORATION WITH RESEARCHERS AT BAYLOR/TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WOMEN'S PAVILION, INDIANA UNIVERSITY INDIANAPOLIS, AND SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY, PHASE 3 RESEARCH WAS COMPLETED AND PLANNING FOR THE FINAL PHASES WAS BEGUN. RGCARE5 IS ESTIMATED TO BE READY FOR USE IN 2027. 100% OF SUPPORT FOR THE RGCARE5 SCREENER IS SUPPORTED BY INDIVIDUAL DONORS.
