Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $4,766 spent. THE MEDICAL TEAM, INC. HAS PROVIDED FREE HEALTH CARE IN THE FORM OF MEDICINE AND MEDICAL TREATMENT TO THOUSANDS OF PATIENTS SINCE 1991. The Medical Team members began the fiscal year with a culmination and graduation from a course to gain skills in better counseling techniques when serving on the mission field. Meanwhile, Gabriel Bostick led as a counselor in two Baton Rouge childrens hospice camps- Camp Conquer. One of his student shows was featured in Baton Rouges 2 Make A Difference program on ABC news station. In July, The Medical Team ministered in Cabo, Mexico, in the soup kitchens and the barrios. For the first time, we partnered with Casa Hogar, the orphanage featured in the movie, Blue Miracle, a true story of how they won a fishing tournament to raise funds after a historic flood, with the help of an American fisherman who was a prior champion. It was a huge success, so they asked us to include them in all our future mission trips. In October, Drs. Peter and Leslie Bostick attended an International Missions Conference learning of missions efforts in several countries of Africa and the Indian Reserves. In January 2025, The Medical Team held our first planning meeting of the year in person in Baton Rouge, with Zoom participants on the east and west coasts, respectively. We had the largest local attendance and participation ever in Baton Rouge. On January 19, Gabriel led the MLKing program, with much support from the team and the Duke community. On February 15, Dr. Leslie Bostick gave a Heart Health Awareness talk in Baton Rouge, and on February 27, The Medical Team women shared in a womens conference in North Carolina. In March, we held another planning meeting in person and on Zoom.In April, more team members graduated from the counseling course, to be more effective on the 2025 missions trip. In May, Elisabeth Lucien obtained her PhD doctorate in Sociology to also contribute more of her talents to serve. The Medical Team met in May in person and on Zoom with a more developed plan for the 2025 missions trip planned later this summer.
