Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $6.4 million spent. THE CARDINAL MCINTYRE FUND FOR CHARITY (THE FUND) WAS FORMED TO ASSIST THE "NEEDIEST OF THE NEEDY" BY RAISING AND MAINTAINING FUNDS TO REIMBURSE PARISHES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES FOR EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTENCE THEY GIVE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. THE PARISHES PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE OR PAY PROVIDERS (UTILITIES, LANDLORDS, MEDICAL PROVIDERS, ETC.) ON BEHALF OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES NEEDING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. PARISHES APPLY TO THE FUND FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO A MAXIMUM OF $5,000 PER ANNUM FOR EACH PARISH.THE CARDINAL MCINTYRE FUND FOR CHARITY RECEIVES ITS FUNDING THROUGH THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:- THE ANNUAL ARCHDIOCESAN APPROVED COLLECTION IN OUR PARISHES USUALLY HELD ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF MAY;- ANNUAL HOLIDAY APPEAL LETTER COINCIDING WITH THE FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT (LATE NOVEMBER) SENT BY U.S. MAIL TO CURRENT NAMES ON THE FUNDS DONOR DATABASE; AND- UNSOLICITED DONATION FROM BENEFACTORS RECEIVED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.AFTER THE EATON FIRE IN ALTADENA AND THE PACIFIC PALISADES FIRE IN JANUARY 2025, INDIVIDUALS, PARISHES, SCHOOLS AND OTHER ENTITIES FROM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES REACHED OUT TO THE ARCHDIOCESE AND SENT CONTRIBUTIONS TO ASSIST FIRE VICTIMS. THE FUND WAS DESIGNATED TO FACILITATE THE IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION OF THESE FUNDS BECAUSE IT HAD IN PLACE AN APPROPRIATE PARISH-BASED STRUCTURE TO PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES NEEDING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. LATER IN 2025, WHEN FAMILIES IN THE ARCHDIOCESE WERE BEING IMPACTED BY CHANGES IN IMMIGRATION POLICIES AND ENFORCEMENT, INDIVIDUALS AND PARISHES IN THE ARCHDIOCESE AND FROM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, AGAIN CAME FORWARD ON AN UNSOLICITED BASIS TO OFFER ASSISTANCE, AND ONCE AGAIN, THE FUND WAS THE VEHICLE TO ALLOW FOR THE IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGH PARISHES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE. BOTH EVENTS WERE UNUSUAL AND LED TO AN UNEXPECTED INCREASE IN REVENUE DURING FISCAL YEAR 2025. ANY UNEXPENDED AMOUNTS RECEIVED FOR EITHER OF THESE CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH DONOR EXPECTATIONS.
