What it says it does

The purpose of this Society is to venerate those who served in America's Revolutionary War, to keep alive the traditions engendered during and as a result of that conflict, to maintain the patriotic traditions of the United States of America, and to keep ever fresh the memory of individuals who served in that war through genealogical research into the heritage of those eligible for membership in the SR. To facilitate the above, the Society maintains a genealogical research library, open to members and the public at no charge.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $23,828 spent. Our Library and Museum is open to the public at no charge, offering our unique collection of books, manuscripts and photograph for study and research. School aged children, students and adults, individually and in groups, viewed rotating exhibits and utilized the collections during the year to gain further insight, understanding and knowledge of our nation's heritage, patriotic traditions and significant historical events relating to the founding of our country and events in the 19th and 20th centuries. Patrons made use of our book and manuscript collections conducting research.
  2. $3,978 spent. We completed additional accessions to our electronic catalog which totals in excess of 30,000 titles. Our catalog utilizes the leading library automation software solution for special libraries. Built on a flexible and scalable backbone with a variety of powerful query and edit capabilities, it is capable of a keyword search across 100,000 records in less than one second. We performed conservation activities to promote preservation of books, manuscripts, photographs and artifacts for future generations. We hosted our electronic catalog on the Internet for the free use and benefit of the public. Our catalog is also available through search engines including Google, Yahoo, as well as on our website.
