- $69,412 spent. At its sites in Oakland San Francisco and Marin ReCARES collects donations of usable durable medical equipment DME and home healthcare supplies and then redistributes these free of charge to those in need. The volume of our services continued to grow in 2025. We collected over 45,000 items from approximately 4,700 donors. These items were redistributed to more than 11,000 recipients including seniors and people with disabilities. Our dedicated volunteers donated over 5,400 hours of service to achieve these results. ReCARES provides a safety net for people who are unable to get needed DME eg. walkers wheelchairs. Proper DME helps enable recipients to stay in their homes after illness or injury fostering their physical and mental health and allowing them to participate more actively in their communities. ReCARES also expanded collaboration with other agencies in 2025 providing needed items and referrals and helping to build a community of like-minded organizations.
