Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $47,127 spent. UC Alumni Chorus (UCAC) is a thriving auditioned volunteer concert choir, composed of 75-100 alumni of the University of California, Berkeley and other UC campuses, UC Berkeley faculty and staff, and other members of the Berkeley community, of all ages from 20-something to 80-something and from all walks of life. At weekly rehearsals, twice-yearly retreats, and at least two concerts annually, UCACs members enjoy learning and performing challenging music at a high level of quality, whether their undergraduate days ended last year, last century, or anytime in between. As a member of and significant contributor to UC Choral Ensembles (UCCE), UC Berkeleys organization for extracurricular vocal music groups, which offers significant leadership opportunities to Cal student singers, as well as an inclusive space for music-making and belonging for hundreds of Cal students and alumni, and as a chapter of the California Alumni Association, UCAC is committed to providing musical and financial support to UCCE and its student members, and regularly invites members of the student choirs to join us for major works performances. UCAC performs a wide variety of music; its primary fall and spring concerts in Berkeley are open to the public and typically attended by 300-500 people each. In fiscal year 2024-2025, UCACs fall concert program consisted of Antonin Dvoraks Stabat Mater and a set of Czech folk songs, and the spring concert program consisted of many different classical choral works accompanied by organ and brass instruments, including Rutters Gloria and Waltons Coronation Te Deum. UCAC also collaborated with other local ensembles in a December holiday concert at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension in Oakland, performing folk and popular music and holiday classics.
