- $188,093 spent. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: OUR CONSTRUCTION EFFORTS ALSO FOCUSED ON ENHANCING THE USER EXPERIENCE AND LONG-TERM DURABILITY OF EXISTING TRAIL SYSTEMS. AT MONTE RIO REDWOODS, THE ORGANIZATION EXECUTED SYSTEM-WIDE ENHANCEMENTS, INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION OF PROFESSIONAL WAYFINDING AND NAVIGATION SIGNAGE TO IMPROVE VISITOR SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY. THESE PROJECTS REPRESENT OUR COMMITMENT TO NOT ONLY BUILDING TRAILS BUT ENSURING THEY ARE MANAGED AS HIGH-QUALITY, NAVIGABLE RECREATIONAL ASSETS FOR THE DIVERSE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE. TO COMBAT ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION AND ENSURE CLIMATE RESILIENCY, THE ORGANIZATION PERFORMED HIGH-LEVEL TECHNICAL MASONRY AND HYDROLOGIC WORK ACROSS SEVERAL SONOMA COUNTY REGIONAL PARKS. WE IMPLEMENTED DRAINAGE LENS INSTALLATIONS AND EXTENSIVE ROCK ARMORING AT HELEN PUTNAM, SHILOH RANCH, HOOD MOUNTAIN, AND TAYLOR MOUNTAIN. THESE SPECIALIZED ENGINEERING TECHNIQUES STABILIZE TRAIL TREADS AGAINST HEAVY SEASONAL RUNOFF, PREVENTING SEDIMENTATION IN LOCAL WATERSHEDS.
- $103,349 spent. GENERAL PROGRAMS: OUR PRIMARY PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE VITAL MAINTENANCE, RESTORATION, AND PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC PARKS AND MULTI-USE TRAIL SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THIS YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION SUCCESSFULLY COORDINATED 44 COMPREHENSIVE VOLUNTEER SERVICE DAYS, MOBILIZING COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL LABOR AND PUBLIC OUTREACH. BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL, REGIONAL, AND STATE PARK SYSTEMS, WE ENSURED THAT THOUSANDS OF ACRES OF OPEN SPACE REMAINED ACCESSIBLE, SAFE, AND ECOLOGICALLY RESILIENT FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE CORE OF OUR IMPACT WAS DRIVEN BY INTENSIVE "WORK DAYS" FOCUSED ON TECHNICAL TRAIL REPAIR AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION. SIGNIFICANT EFFORTS WERE CONCENTRATED AT TRIONE-ANNADEL STATE PARK (15 WORK DAYS) AND HELEN PUTNAM REGIONAL PARK (7 WORK DAYS), WHERE VOLUNTEERS PERFORMED EROSION CONTROL, BRUSH CLEARING, AND TREAD REPAIR. OUR STEWARDSHIP EXTENDED TO A DIVERSE ARRAY OF LOCATIONS, INCLUDING TAYLOR MOUNTAIN, MOORE CREEK PARK, LAWSON PEAK TRAIL, AND MONTE RIO REDWOODS, TOTALING OVER 39 DEDICATED WORK DAYS OF MANUAL FIELD LABOR ACROSS MORE THAN A DOZEN UNIQUE SITES WITH 1,600 HOURS OF SERVICE. BEYOND PHYSICAL MAINTENANCE, THE ORGANIZATION PRIORITIZED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND THE LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY OF OUTDOOR RECREATION THROUGH EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. WE CONDUCTED 4 SPECIALIZED EDUCATION DAYS AT TRAILHEAD OUTPOSTS TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ON TRAIL ETIQUETTE AND SAFETY, AND SUPPORTED LARGE-SCALE REGIONAL EVENTS LIKE THE LEVI GRANFONDO WITH A DEDICATED OUTREACH PRESENCE. THESE EFFORTS SERVE TO FOSTER A CULTURE OF RESPONSIBLE LAND USE AND ENSURE THAT OUR REGIONAL PARKS CONTINUE TO THRIVE AS ESSENTIAL COMMUNITY ASSETS.
- $64,840 spent. CONSTRUCTION OVERHEAD: THE ORGANIZATION SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDED ITS FOOTPRINT IN SPECIALIZED TRAIL INFRASTRUCTURE THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. A PRIMARY FOCUS WAS DIRECTED TOWARD MT. KONOCTI COUNTY PARK IN LAKE COUNTY, WHERE OUR TEAM SPEARHEADED THE CRITICAL PRE-CONSTRUCTION PHASE. THIS INVOLVED METICULOUS TRAIL PLANNING AND ROUTE FLAGGING TO ENSURE SUSTAINABLE ALIGNMENT AND ECOLOGICAL PROTECTION, SETTING THE FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE PUBLIC ACCESS ON THIS ICONIC VOLCANIC PEAK. SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE INITIATED THE PLANNING PHASE FOR A NEW TRAIL SYSTEM AT MOORE CREEK PARK IN NAPA, ENSURING REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY WITHIN THE LOCAL PARK NETWORK. FURTHERMORE, WE SERVED AS A STRATEGIC CONSULTANT FOR MARIN WATER, SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHING A NEW TRAIL STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM TO COORDINATE MONTHLY MAINTENANCE DAYS ON MT. TAMALPAIS, EFFECTIVELY SCALING OUR MODEL OF COMMUNITY-DRIVEN LAND MANAGEMENT TO NEIGHBORING JURISDICTIONS.
- $68,568 spent. OTHER PROGRAMS: ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, FISCAL SPONSORSHIP, VOLUNTEER DAYS.
