This Years Achievements and ProgramsOur calendar was rich with events celebrating our past and shaping our future:?130th Anniversary Celebration: We successfully hosted our 130th Anniversary Celebration in May, a tremendous event that honored our rich history and the vibrant community weve built.?Civic and Social Engagement: We kicked off the year by walking in the Rose, White and Blue Parade and the Gay Pride Parade. Our events included the City of San Jose District 3 Candidates Forum in March, the elegant Opera with the Stars Gala Luncheon in April, and the festive Irish Pub Party. We also inaugurated our new Salon Talks series, focusing on creativity and creation.?Charitable Giving and Groups: Our commitment to community service saw tangible results. Our Best Furry Friends (BFF) group - in partnership with 13th St Cat Rescue, Bay Area Cats and 9Lives, had a landmark year, facilitating the trapping, neutering, and return of over 200 cats to their communities. BFF successfully raised funds for foster cat Lyras dental surgery and placed over 12 cats and kittens in to homes. We also officially established our new Mind, Body and Soil Gardening Group this year and saw the continued success of Antiques, Arts and Culture, Artists Collective, Besse Books & Culture, Mahjong and Womans Club Walking Society groups as they hosted meetings, events and get togethers. .Building and Infrastructure ProgressThis year was defined by major facility improvements:?HVAC air conditioning and heating: We successfully determined our vendor, signed the contract and installed the new HVAC system providing cooling and heating to the Club. We extend grateful thanks to the County of Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department and the Rotary Club of San Jose Foundation for their grants to fund electrical, cooling, and new flooring upgrades.?Security and Operations: We completed the installation of new, higher-quality security cameras and added a new freezer to better support our events and renters.
