Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $213,854 spent. Purchased debt owed by Grand Rapids Alliance of Cooperative Communities (GRACC) to Allen Creek Grand Rapids LLC. The purchase allows GRACC to clear the debt over a longer period and at a lower interest rate. This will support their affordable housing efforts for many years.
  2. $37,815 spent. Continued to work on a property acquisition for affordable housing. The house had been leased by GRACC, but they were not financially able to purchase it. A purchase agreement was signed in April, and we were approved for a mortgage loan in May. We anticipate completing the purchase early in our next fiscal year. This property will provide housing for 16 low-, very low-, and extremely low-income people.
  3. $25,696 spent. We purchased seven vacant lots in Grand Rapids, MI. We plan to develop affordable housing on these lots, and integrate them with two adjacent lots that we plan to lease in January 2026 (with a plan to purchase from the current owner in the future). Initially, this project will house 11 people.
