- THE SECURE WATER ALLIANCE (SWA) WAS FORMED IN MAY 2023. SINCE THEN, IN ADDITION TO CONCLUDING WORK RELATIVE TO THE LEGAL INCORPORATION OF THE GROUP, WE HAVE TAKEN A SUPPORT POSITION ON FIVE WATER SUPPLY AND STORAGE PROJECTS AND HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN SUPPORTING THE REGULATORY APPROVAL OF THE THREE THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN THE PUBLIC REVIEW PROCESS. FOR THIS PURPOSE, WE HAVE DEVELOPED A PUBLIC-FACING INFORMATIVE WEBSITE (WWW.SECUREWATERALLIANCE.COM), BUILT AND/OR SUPPORTED COALITIONS OF LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS, AND TESTIFIED OR SUBMITTED COMMENT LETTERS IN SUPPORT OF THE WATER PROJECTS, POLICIES, AND LEGISLATION THE ALLIANCE SUPPORTS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE OPPOSED POLICIES AND LEGISLATION THAT ARE COUNTER TO OUR OBJECTIVES. WE HAVE ALSO HELD MEETINGS OF OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO PROVIDE THEM WITH CURRENT INFORMATION ON THE PROJECTS, POLICIES, AND LEGISLATION WE ARE FOCUSED UPON, AND HAVE SHARED MUCH OF THIS INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA.
