Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $4,167 spent. The Foundation received $4,167 from the ARC Ready program to help fund our strategic planning initiative for the Fayette County Community Foundation. This amount was then paid to the vendor for starting the Strategic Plan.
  2. $3,000 spent. The Fayetteville Creates program was started in 2025 with a grant from the Tamarack Foundation. The purpose of this grant was to invite seven artists to become month long residents staying in donated short term rentals while providing community art programs with over 330 attendees from the area.
  3. $1,000 spent. The organization received a $40,000 endowment establishing the Nora M. Reed Scholarship for Visual Arts or Music Studies. Investment earnings support annual scholarship awards. The first $1,000 scholarship was awarded in May 2025 to a student attending Marshall University.
