THIS YEAR, EDSA LAUNCHED ITS MOST AMBITIOUS AND UNIFYING EFFORT: A COORDINATED STRATEGY TO END DRUG SHORTAGES BY SCALING SUCCESSFUL PILOTS, DRIVING POLICY INNOVATION, AND ALIGNING NATIONAL RESILIENCE EFFORTS.2025 MARKED A CRITICAL MILESTONE AS DATA COLLECTION FOR THE DRUG RESILIENCY AND TRANSPARENCY PILOT OFFICIALLY BEGAN. THIS PILOT IS A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND, COLLABORATIVE EFFORT GUIDED BY A DEDICATED PILOT TASK FORCE OF HEALTH SYSTEM LEADERS, SUPPLY CHAIN EXPERTS, AND OUR RAPID RESPONSE TEAM. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O).THE PILOT IS DESIGNED TO BUILD A SCALABLE, TRANSPARENT SYSTEM THAT ENSURES CONSISTENT ACCESS TO MEDICATIONS,ESTABLISHES INVENTORY STEWARDSHIP BEST PRACTICES, RECOMMENDS BUFFER SUPPLY STRATEGIES, AND SUPPORTS TIMELY DRUG DISTRIBUTION DURING SHORTAGES. PARTICIPATING HOSPITALS AND DISTRIBUTORS SUBMIT WEEKLY BLINDED DATA AND INVENTORY STATUS ON SEVEN ESSENTIAL PEDIATRIC CANCER DRUGS, WHICH ALLOWS US TO SPOT PATTERNS BEFORE THEY BECOME CRISES, ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES AND IMPROVE PLANNING, GUIDE BEST PRACTICES FOR STEWARDSHIP AND BUFFER MANAGENENT. EDSA ADDED 22 MEMBERS IN 2025, GROWING TO 100 ACTIVE MEMBERS ACROSS THE DRUG SUPPLY CHAIN. WITH THIS GROWTH COMES GREATER STRENGTH, GREATER REACH, AND A GREATER ABILITY TO DELIVER RESULTS THAT MATTER.
