Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $10,965 spent. In Loving Memory: KAMBARA+ artists Yayoi Kambara, Loni Landon, Janesta Edmonds, and Angela Yam were commissioned by Robert Moses Kin (RMK) Dance Company in San Francisco to create a piece about legacy for their 30th anniversary season performance shown in San Francisco at Z Space as part of RMK's "New Legacies: One Acts" series, a platform for emerging and established voices in contemporary dance.
  2. $10,021 spent. (NI DO TO): an XR pilgrimage is a transformative lobby experience of shared connection that journeys through ancestral joy, historical trauma, and community resilience with the narrative of Japanese American incarceration. The exhibit is experienced through various interactive technologies, dance film, and visual art. Open from April 19 - July 13, 2025.
  3. $300 spent. The Spirit of Kangie: The Spirit of Obon, extends choreographer Nobuko Miyamotos original intent behind "Kangie" (meaning "gathering of joy") to bring people together after the COVID-19 pandemic. Bon Odori or Obon dance is a participatory circular dance performed communally during the Japanese and Japanese American Obon Festivals which commemorate our ancestors. This video was a part of the inaugural 2025 exhibition, Dancing the Algorithm, at the new Doris Duke Theatre at Jacob's Pillow.
  4. $15,470 spent. YES!, an interactive performance narrated by Black Benatar (aka Mx Beatrice Thomas) and visualized by and with their consent angels. Black Benatar hosts our viewers through a theatrical dance journey where audiences engage as active co-conspirators towards togetherness. YES! numbers include dance, drag, interactive games, and reflections. Audiences articulate and analyze the scenes to define consent - when a scenario needs consent, discernment, the choice we make and communicate, and finally - action without attachment. Show October 5th, 2025 at C.A.S.T. Theater San Francisco.
