Programs described in its return (1)
- During the tax year, our organization operated a community-based youth lacrosse program dedicated to providing affordable athletic, educational, and character-building opportunities for children and adolescents in our service area. The program focused on increasing access to organized athletics for youth who may not otherwise be able to participate due to financial or transportation barriers. We organized seasonal teams, practices, and league competition for boys and girls in elementary, middle school, and high school age groups. Volunteer coaches and board members provided instruction in athletic skills, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility. In addition to athletic instruction, the program emphasized academic accountability, positive peer relationships, and mentorship. To ensure accessibility, the organization offered reduced-fee registration and scholarships to families with financial need. Funds raised through donations and sponsorships were used to offset equipment, league fees, field rentals, and uniforms. The organization also maintained a shared equipment program so participants could borrow protective gear and sticks at no cost. Throughout the year, the program conducted practices, games, and skills clinics, and coordinated participation in local and regional leagues and tournaments. Volunteers donated substantial time assisting with coaching, field preparation, transportation coordination, and event operations. As a result of these activities, participating youth had increased opportunities for physical activity, structured after-school engagement, and positive adult mentorship. The organizations programs promoted healthy lifestyles, social development, and community involvement while reducing financial barriers to participation in organized sports.
