Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. WPSRC is a multi-institutional surgical collaborative committed to advancing the care of infants and children through contemporary evidence-based research. Provide grants to surgical trainees performing impactful surgical research on the care of infants and children. In the last FY, WPSRC provided one major grant to a trainee in Utah and supported the travel expenses of another trainee from UC San Diego. The collaborative efforts of these trainees resulted in 4 scientific publications in impactful journals, 12 scientific presentations at annual meetings of pediatric surgeons around the country. It is impossible to determine the exact number of people who benefited. The average attendance of the annual meetings is 1500 surgeons, and the average readership of the journals is around 5000. Each of these surgeons may treat 1000s of children annually. We feel that our work is directly benefiting our grant recipient and the children. It is indirectly benefiting the surgeons who learn the results of our work.In addition to this, there are 8 active projects and 5 more presentations scheduled and 3 more publications in progress.
