Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $151,557 spent. TFM Traditional Markets run 4 days a week from May-September and include 4 Tacoma locations: Downtown Broadway, Eastside, Point Ruston and Multicare in Hilltop. These markets support WIC, EBT, PEBT, and SNAP programs for families and individuals qualifying for assistance. To qualify as a Farmers Market through the WFMA, as well as accept WIC, we must commit to hosting 5 farmers per market with a certain percentage of revenue going to our farm vendors. Our commitment to qualifying as a farmers market solidifies our goals to increase access to fresh and local produce. These markets also provide a space for local farmers and businesses to direct sell to customers and to build a customer base.
  2. The Fresh Express Mobile Market is a year round mobile market that travels to 8 different locations throughout Pierce County. This market brings fresh and local produce, bread, eggs, and other items to customers who may have transportation or other mobility restrictions. This programs partners with community organizations to pin point locations with limited food access as well as with local farmers to purchase directly and sell to consumers. FEM accepts EBT, SNAP and PEBT as well as other forms of payment assistance.
