Impact evidence
Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.
Programs described in its return (4)
- $476,721 spent. Choral Education Program: Professional teaching staff create an environment where youth in grades 1-12 can develop curiosity, confidence, and community through the choral rehearsal process. Treble choirs are organized primarily by age to support social, vocal, and developmental learning needs. Retreats, workshops, and visits from culture-bearers offer additional opportunities to improvise, create, and deepen their musical and cultural understandings.
- $65,109 spent. Touring: Regular tours offer registered choristers in grades 4-12 the opportunity to grow as musicians, strengthen relationships within their choir, and build new understandings about their place in the wider world. Tours may include local visits to retirement communities, schools, or community centers; multi-day events that involve exchanges or workshops with other choral musicians; and longer national or international tours that offer a range of cultural and performance opportunities.
- $19,290 spent. Other Program Services Summer Camp: This week-long summer day camp brings together singers in grades 2-7 for an exploration of music and creativity. Choristers from our older choirs and recent alums serve as counselors, counselors-in-training, and leadership staff, mentoring campers musically and socially alongside professional artistic staff.
- $16,529 spent. Concert Series: Northwest Girlchoir performs eight choral concerts annually at a variety of venues around Puget Sound. Seven treble choirs perform with professional teacher-conductors, instrumentalists, and occasional guest artists.
