Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $52,305 spent. ARFT conducted multiple educational and cultural events in East Tennessee during 2024, including a midsummer themed ball, a maypole event, and a Renaissance-themed festival. These programs promoted Appalachian, Celtic, Medieval, and Renaissance history, music, dance, and traditional arts through demonstrations, performances, and public events. At its fall festival, ARFT hosted more than 100 vendors, including many demonstrating traditional arts and crafts from the Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee region, and served approximately 7,000 to 8,000 attendees. The organization also expanded operations to a larger leased site in Kodak, Tennessee, increasing public access and community participation.
