Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $12,853 spent. Garden Maintenance: Throughout 2025, major work continued in the garden. Hundreds of plants were purchased and installed throughout the numerous beds within the garden. Approximately 86% of our garden maintenance expenses were monies spent on plants. An additional $350 was monies spent on rental vehicles to deliver the plants to the garden on planting days. Other garden maintenance costs consisted of supplies such as garden tools, compost, and irrigation materials to repair and extend irrigation lines.
  2. $8,518 spent. Education: In 2025, the SoBro Conservancy invested monies in the design, printing and assembly, and installation of numerous educational signs. The themes of the signs include "WHAT IS ECOLOGICAL GARDENING?," "WHAT DOES WILDLIFE NEED?," "HOW DO WE DESIGN FOR BIODIVERSITY?," & "WHERE DO BEES & BUTTERFLIES SLEEP?" Each sign is comprised of detailed images and informative text. The signs are placed strategically throughout the garden to be accessible to all garden guests.
  3. $1,644 spent. Volunteer Engagement: The SoBro Conservancy relies heavily on community volunteers to fulfill its mission. Throughout 2025, monies were spent on developing social media content to recruit new volunteers and to engage with existing volunteers. These efforts were highly effective. The organization accomplished multiple successful mass-planting days that would not have been possible without extensive volunteer contributions.
