What it says it does

Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding is a non-profit organization that offers Equine Assisted Activities EAA to our local Veterans free of charge. EAA includes equine activities to promote the development of life skills, emotional regulation, wellbeing, and improved psychosocial functioning for veterans suffering from the physical and emotional wounds of war, including PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury TBI, and other mental health challenges. Currently, there are over 13,000 veterans in Vanderburgh county. 1 in 4 of these veterans suffer from PTSD. Our local veterans are an underserved population and we know how important access to mental health services is. Interacting with horses builds trust and confidence and strengthens emotional bonds with each session.

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.
