What it says it does
The Cadet Foundation operates and publishes The Cadet newspaper as the independent voice of the VMI Corps of Cadets and Alumni since its creation in 1871, its transition to a newspaper format in 1907, and today. Our mission is to support the journalistic pursuits in publishing the student-produced and alumni supported medium of news and information by cadets and alumni in continuing the positive and proud tradition and enhance the bonds between these two essential groups. The interaction will enhance the academic, military, intellectual and professional development experiences of its cadet members interested in careers in journalism or related fields as well as offer leadership opportunities to practice academic, military, and personal skills. The Cadet Foundation also supports other programs that directly benefit Cadets and their working with alumni that are nominated by Cadets and alumni to meet the Foundation's mission.

Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.
