- $168,293 spent. OUR GOAL IS CHILDREN'S KINDERGARTEN AND READINESS (CKR) AND FUTURE SUCCESS. WE SEEK TO SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE THESE FOR ALL CHILDREN AND ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE MOST IN NEED. AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS IN DEVELOPMENT, WE WERE ABLE TO BRING OUR WEBSITE LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME. BY THE END OF THE YEAR, WE ADDED NEW MODULES TO IT TO AUTOMATE OUR GRANT REVIEW PROCESS AND TO AUTOMATE SUBMISSION OF PARTICIPANTS' FINAL SUBMISSIONS. IN ADDITION, WE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN OUR PROCESS FOR INFORMING RESEARCHERS AND DEANS ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF OUR GRANTS. IN THE IMPORTANT AREA OF ACTUALLY MAKING GRANTS AND SPONSORING RESEARCH, DURING 2024 THE WORK OF STRENGTHENING FUTURE FAMILIES SUBSTANTIALLY EXPANDED AS WE RECEIVED THE FIRST FOUR COMPLETED GRANT REQUESTS AND APPROVED ALL FOUR OF THEM IN AN AMOUNT TOTALLING $260,000. FOR THESE GRANTS, ALMOST $100,000 WAS DISBURSED WITH MOST OF THE REMAINDER EXPECTED TO BE DISBURSED AS THE RESEARCH IS CONDUCTED IN 2025. THE GRANTS WERE MADE: TWO TO FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY ($41,250) , ONE TO PARENTEACH INSTITUTE ($32,500), AN IRS APPROVED 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT, AND ONE TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY ($21,667). THE PROCEDURES FOR MONITORING THE USE OF THE GRANTS BEGIN WITH EXTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMITTING A GRANT REQUEST. THEY INCLUDE BACKGROUNDS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT TEAM MEMBERS AND ESPECIALLY FOR PROJECT PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS. THEY ALSO INCLUDE DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT INCLUDING SUCH INFORMATION AS AN IN DEPTH DESCRIPTION OF IT; THE RESEARCHERS' THEORY OF CHANGE; AN EXPLANATION OF HOW THEIR EXPECTED RESEARCH OUTCOMES ALIGN WITH THAT THEORY OF CHANGE; PARTNERSHIP PLANS, IF ANY; AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN; AND MUCH OTHER INFORMATION. ALSO REQUIRED ARE THREE FORMS: BUDGET, TASKS, AND DELIVERABLES. ON THE DELIVERABLES SCHEDULE ARE TYPICALLY AT LEAST THREE DISBURSEMENT AMOUNTS TO BE MADE FOR SPECIFIC DELIVERABLES OVER THE COURSE OF THE PROJECT. FINAL DISBURSEMENT AMOUNTS AND THE ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES ARE AGREED TO AT THE TIME THE GRANT CONTRACT IS SIGNED. THEN, DURING THE CONDUCT OF THE PROJECT, NO DISBURSEMENT IS MADE UNTIL THE SPECIFIED DELIVERABLES UP TO THAT POINT HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED. THE FINAL DISBURSEMENT IS NOT MADE UNTIL RECEIPT OF THE FINAL REPORT AND, IDEALLY PUBLICATION OF IT, ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED.
