Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $128,024 spent. Community Development - see Schedule O
  2. $41,564 spent. Community Outreach - See Schedule O
  3. Community Development The Key Peninsula Healthy Community (KPHC) is a community hub organization. We bring together many different assets to create programs, connections, and activities that strengthen the region. Our collaborative work stretches across all parts of the community and includes community members, service organizations, non-profit agencies, the business community, policy makers, and government entities/law makers. We focus on projects which have major impacts for the community at large and require coordination, trust building, time, and effort to plan and implement. Our primary focus areas are transportation, health and wellness (including access to care activities), childcare (increasing availability locally), hunger, and organizational capacity development. Examples of this work include: Employment of a community health worker to help residents connect with available resources and increase trust; working with Pierce County and other public entities to create public transportation options that do not otherwise exist, bringing together multiple groups to work on community issues and take the lead in finding solutions that work for the Key Peninsula; connecting funding sources and/or other capital resources to partner organizations and projects; bridging financial or other resource gaps to allow our partners to do their work more effectively; and working with policy makers to update and/or change laws and policies that create barriers for rural communities. Community Outreach Community outreach and development are complex activities. The Key Peninsula Healthy Community (KPHC) strengthens the Key Peninsula by connecting the community. Our work is guided by Key Peninsula residents through the process of identifying visions, building trust and legitimacy, and doing the work necessary to maintain trust and achieve community goals. Our activities include weekly information updates distributed through multiple channels to the community; creation of Key Peninsula-specific resource guides on transportation, food resources, and health access distributed to thousands of residents and partner organizations; leading and/or collaborating on community forums; a robust and regularly updated social media presence; and regular meetings with stakeholders from all areas of the community to ensure multi-directional information and feedback flow.
