- $66,013 spent. We welcomed 37 new Birdability Captains to our volunteer network across the country (and in Canada and Mexico!)! Our Captains provided accessible outings to more than 600 individuals during 50+ events outside of Birdability Week. We provided 20 Trainings and 26 Technical Assistance and Support Consultations to help organizations and communities work toward access and inclusion in the natural world! Our reach was diverse, with colleges and universities, birding organizations, disability services and advocacy groups, land trusts, and other public land entities reaching out for information and support in their work. That is on top of the 60+ individuals who reached out with information requests about adaptive equipment, access features, or accessible birding sites. Birdability provided 26 virtual events and information sessions during 2024 to build our community and provide vital organizing spaces for accessible birding. This year, over 750 attendees joined our virtual + community events during Birdability Week. And our social media reached 28,000 people, helping connect them to our mission and community! We added 265 new site reviews to the Birdability Map, bringing accessible birding opportunities to more birders nationwide through 1800+ Map sites. We partnered with 25+ organizations, expanding our reach to new communities and regions.
