Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $5,487 spent. Overall Support for Local Residents in Need: Friends of Mary's Hands was established in December 2020 to support Marijine Ruke (Mary's Hands), a charitable organization founded in Medjugorje in 2016 by Jakov Colo. The organization's purpose is to assist disadvantaged individuals and families in the Medjugorje region and beyond by providing essential goods and support services. During the tax year, Friends of Mary's Hands directed all donations to support Marijine Ruke's charitable programs. These funds enabled the distribution of approximately 500 packages of food, clothing, and shoes each month to families in need. Donations also supported initiatives that help residents plant vegetable gardens for food sustainability, pay utility bills, purchase medications for individuals with no income, and provide temporary and permanent housing for families in crisis. Additionally, during the winter months, the organization supplied firewood for home heating.
  2. $30,000 spent. Marijine rukes Soup Kitchen: Friends of Mary's Hands provided funding for the ongoing operation of the Marijine Ruke Soup Kitchen in Medjugorje. With donor support, the organization helped renovate an existing structure to serve as the Soup Kitchen facility. The program now provides approximately 6,000 meals per month to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
