Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $45,397 spent. Mounted a brand new production of 'The Cradle Will Rock' by Marc Blitzstein that fused live music performance with large scale shadow puppetry. Productions took place in April 2024 to sold out audiences at Heart of the Beast Theater in Minneapolis. 100 high school students from Lionsgate Academy, South High School and Leap High School attended the final dress rehearsal and got to see backstage and ask questions directly of the artists involved.
  2. $12,984 spent. Presented our opera film 'Minagi kin dowan: a Zitkala-Sa Opera' at Big Top Chatauqua, one of the largest outdoor music festival venues in the midwest, in June 2024. They hosted us as part of their Family series and the production artists presented a hand drum music session and performance before and after the screening of the film.
  3. $27,574 spent. Presented a new production of the AOT fan favorite production DIVAS & DRAG at the brand new 825 Arts venue in St. Paul in September 2024. We collaborated with two new co-artistic producers Queenie von Curves and Dick von Dyke and hired 14 local burlesque, drag, and singing artists to work together on new routines performed to live opera singing.
  4. $27,769 spent. Other programmatic work to break down the barriers of the classical art form and bring communities together.
