- $221,380 spent. In 2024 HSCD secured and closed on two loans (City of Asheville and Self Help) which opened the path to beginning construction on its first 41 unit multifamily deeply affordable apartment building. The groundbreaking was held in February of 2024 and, once final permits were received, construction was started in May of 2024. As of 12/31/2024 construction is just over 30% complete.
- Additionally, HSCD entered into a Management Agreement with Givens Affordable Housing to provide Property Management services. HSCD has renewed the management fee contract with Haywood Street Congregation to provide necessary functions such as fundraising, accounts receivable and payable which now includes a new full time Director of Housing that will provide 100% Operational oversight for HSCD.
- HSCD also held its first fundraising event, Nourish and Nest, in September 2024.
