Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $54,203 spent. In 2025, the Friends for the Abbott Marshlands offered over 200 Public Programs with a total attendance of over 3800 people. Most programs were free of charge and they included educational trail walks, community gatherings, art programs and exhibit openings, and special guest speaker presentations. 2. $24,339 spent. Volunteer training and recruitment was a major effort in 2025 with over 4100 hours of volunteer service recorded. Our second Abbott Ambassador Training Program was completed, and volunteers supported the Friends efforts at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, at numerous outreach events, and also by participating in many Stewardship activities, including trail building and invasive species removal.
  3. $16,506 spent. The Jack Graham Intern Program continued in 2025 with part-time interns for a six week summer program. Interns received education about the ecology and history of the marshlands, assisted in marsh stewardship activities including water monitoring, and performed independent research on a marsh related topic of their choice.
  4. $16,933 spent. The Friends for the Abbott Marshlands also provide an online Calendar of Events for activities taking place in the marshlands, facilitate meetings of the Abbott Marshlands Stewardship Council, and provide financial support to the Tulpehaking Nature Center for programs and supplies.
