Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $37,078 spent. Outreach: Support group meetings: In 2025, PCSANM held 23 prostate cancer support group meetings, drawing 653 attendees. While slightly below 2024's 665 sign-ins, participation remained near 2024's record high and reflects a dramatic multi-year increase from 487 sign-ins in 2023 and 206 sign-ins in 2022. This sustained level of engagement demonstrates the organization's continued growth, strong community trust, and consistent program demand. Meetings regularly featured expert presentations by physicians and specialists from leading local hospitals and cancer centers, providing participants with direct access to high-quality, evidence-based medical information. By increasing awareness of the full spectrum of available prostate cancer treatments, PCSANM empowers patients and their families to make informed, confident decisions about their care. To support those newly diagnosed, PCSANM distributes a free Beginner's Guide to Prostate Cancer at group meetings and during one-on-one peer support sessions, ensuring individuals have clear, accessible educational resources at every stage of their journey. One-on-one peer support: In 2025, PCSANM provided 180 one-on-one peer support sessions, delivering personalized guidance to individuals coping with prostate cancer. These confidential, peer-to-peer meetings created a safe and supportive environment where patients and their families could ask questions, share concerns, and receive informed, compassionate support tailored to their specific circumstances. Buddy list: PCSANM provided contact information for PCSANM volunteers open to discussing with others their treatment choices and outcomes. Presentations and community outreach: PCSANM shared information about prostate cancer at over a dozen health fairs and events in 2025.
  2. $9,704 spent. Annual Conference: The 2025 conference addressed critical issues facing individuals coping with prostate cancer, including sexual health, emotional and mental well-being, and strategies for managing treatment-related side effects. The hybrid, half-day program attracted 83 attendees, expanding access through both in-person and virtual participation. Consistent with PCSANM's mission, the annual conference - like all of the organization's services - was provided entirely free of charge, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to education and support.
  3. $9,006 spent. Newsletter & website: PCSANM published a free quarterly newsletter containing research and personal experiences of men with prostate cancer. Our website contains information and links to resources on the disease.
  4. $483 spent. Vouchers for free PSA testing: PCSANM is seeking to grow this program in which vouchers for free PSA tests are given to those in need. In the past year, we distributed eight vouchers to support men who lacked the resources to otherwise undergo the simple blood test used to help with early detection of prostate cancer.
