Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $7,000 spent. MEDIA OUTREACH: IN 2025, RE SYNERGY SUPPORTED A FULL-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY CALLED "A CONNECTICUT FARMER AND THE KING'S COW," THE STORY AND HISTORY OF A SMALL FARMER IN RURAL CONNECTICUT. HIS FAMILY CAME TO AMERICA IN THE 1620'S WITH A HERITAGE BREED OF CATTLE. THIS LINE OF FAMILY AND CATTLE HAS EXISTED SINCE THEN, BUT HE WILL PROBABLY BE THE LAST OF HIS LINE. THE PIECE CALLS ATTENTION TO THE PLIGHT OF SMALL FARMERS, WHO ARE AGING OUT OF THE AGRICULTURAL SYSTEM. THE FILM WAS OFFICIALLY RELEASED IN FALL 2025, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN AT MULTIPLE FILM FESTIVALS ACROSS THE U.S. WE ALSO HELPED TO PRODUCE A SERIES ACCEPTED FOR PUBLIC TV CALLED "SON OF A BUTCHER." IT TELLS THE STORY OF A YOUNG MAN IN CENTRAL PA, WHO RAISES BEEF CATTLE AND WORKS IN THE FAMILY GROCERY. FAMILY, FARM, RECIPIES AND SCIENCE CONNECT PEOPLE WITH THEIR FOOD SUPPLY.
  2. $5,000 spent. IN 2025, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON SUPPORTING MAKE IT WITH WOOL (SEE HTTPS://MAKEITWITHWOOL.COM). THIS ORGANIZATION PROMOTES THE ARTS AND SKILLS OF HANDCRAFTING GARMENTS AND ACCESSORIES (WEAVING, SEWING, KNITTING, ETC.), WITH THE USE OF MOSTLY NATURAL FIBERS. MIWW HOLDS STATE AND NATIONAL CONTESTS AT VARIOUS AGES AND SKILL LEVELS, WITH SCHOLARSHIP AND GRANT OPPORTUNITES IN DESIGN AND COMPLETION. IT WORKS WITH THE AM. SHEEP INDUSTRY AND VARIOUS LOCAL AND STATE FESTIVALS, SUPPORTING WOOL AND NATURAL FIBER PRODUCTION. RE SYNERGY FUNDED THREE CONTESTS FOR MIWW IN 2025: 1) THE SWEATER CONTEST (RENEWAL), 2) RENEW, REUSE, RECYCLE, AND 3) PRODUCER TO CRAFTER. RE SYNERGY SUBSIDIZED TRANSPORTATION, FOOD AND LODGING FOR MEDIA COVERAGE OF EVENTS IN CALIFORNIA, NEW YORK AND TEXAS; PRINTING OF BANNERS, POSTERS, AND FLYERS FOR PUBLIC VISIBILITY AND EDUCATION; GARMENT SHIPPING COSTS FOR THE CONTEST FINALISTS; AND AD PLACEMENT ON THE NY FESTIVAL LIVESTREAM, WITH WORLDWIDE REACH VIA YOUTUBE.
  3. $4,050 spent. RE SYNERGY WAS A TITLE SPONSOR FOR THE CLAIREMONT GARDEN TOUR, MAY 2025. THIS NON-PROFIT FUNDRAISER IS HELD ANNUALLY, AND TOURS YARDS AND GARDENS IN SAN DIEGO. TICKET SALES GO TO NEIGHBORHOOD BEAUTIFICATION, COMMUNITY BUILDING AND EDUCATION. WE ALSO SPONSORED 9 LEARNED LECTURERS AT THE COMMUNITY GARDEN STOP ON THE TOUR, WITH TABLES, SIGNAGE, SAMPLES, AND LITERATURE. EXPERTS INCLUDED SPECILISTS IN LICHENOLOGY, XERISCAPING, SOIL BIOLOGY AND HEALTH, MASTER GARDENERS AND PRESERVERS, VERMICULTURE, AND ARBORISTS. IN ADDITION, WE SUPPORTED PARTICIPATION BY LOCAL NONPROFIT SOCIETIES, SUCH AS 4H (INCLUDING 2 LLAMAS), FLORAL AND BOTANICAL, NATIVE PLANTS. THE POPULAR SUCCESS AND OUTREACH CAPACITY OF THIS EVENT WAS UNDENIABLE, AND WE HOPE TO SPONSOR FUTURE EVENTS IN THIS MANNER.
  4. $12,500 spent. RE SYNERGY AGAIN SUPPORTED THE NEW YORK STATE SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL, A FOOD AND FIBER FESTIVAL WITH 30,000-PLUS IN-PERSON ATTENDEES, AS WELL AS A PUBLIC LIVESTREAM.
