Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $11,530 spent. Daily Meals : We are serving approximately 400 meals per month. We serve approximately 10 individuals per weekday and 60 on Sundays. Sundays include in-person and delivered meals. We also provide food boxes for families due to local food pantries only operating 1 day per week. We assist approximately 12 families per month. Food is also delivered to elderly and disabled individuals who lack transportation. We provide one or two hot meals per day at our physical location that we rent out. We have connected with local resources to partner with us in this effort. Individuals, churches, and organizations all donate surplus food items as available. When we think about how we bless those we serve, we look to a meal of first fruits. A feast that speaks to the value and worth of those who are eating the meal. And again, these will be table moments to form and grow true relationships. When those relationships are formed, we can better learn how to help guide one another in this journey.
  2. $7,529 spent. Benevolence: We provide benevolence to individuals and families that include utility and rent assistance, auto gas, clothing, hygiene products, communication, hotel, medication, and various miscellaneous items. We assisted approximately 14 families with utility help, 9 individuals with pick up of their medication, 1 family with partial rent, 25 hygiene purchases, 3 families with hotel stays, 29 individuals with gas to get to doctor appointments, jobs and interviews, 6 individuals with job related uniforms and boots, 1 individual with auto battery to get to appointments and 17 miscellaneous items such as diapers for families. We provide these services 24/7, as anyone can call our main number at any time of day and request assistance. Assistance with utilities and rent is restricted to only a portion of the past due bill. We seek to bless and provide for the homeless, low income families, elderly, handicapped, or anyone struggling. We partner with several places that donate a variety of daily needed hygiene items. A local church's children's bible class donates hygiene bags once a year. We see how important it is to be able to take care of yourself. We understand that, as we will try and help those we serve to land employment, having the proper hygiene in the beginning of these efforts is very important. We provide free hygiene items to those in need at our physical location. These are on hand daily. If we do not have something in stock, and a need arises, we will purchase what is needed.
  3. $4,610 spent. Project Services: We provide free services such as small home renovation projects and building of ramps/porches to elderly, handicapped, or low income families. We renovated 1 storage shed, built 2 ramps with porches, and renovated 1 porch. The storage shed was renovated by 2 of our homeless individuals with carpentry experience. These same individuals built the ramps and porches as well for families with a handicapped family member. This project not only assists our community but builds respect and trust from our homeless population as well as giving them the confidence to take on other jobs.
  4. $2,552 spent. Mowing: We provide mowing and weed-eating services for our community at no charge. These are provided to elderly, handicapped, single parent households or anyone without the equipment.
