- $160,691 spent. Following Hurricane Dorian's devastation in the Abaco region of the Bahamas, ARF responded immediately by providing emergency transportation services. We organized dozens of relief flights, evacuating hundreds of individuals-primarily families with young children-from the disaster zone. Once the initial crisis subsided, ARF shifted its focus to securing temporary housing in the United States for evacuees, supporting them for as long as their visas permitted. Our efforts then expanded to clearing land, assessing the condition of surviving homes, and ultimately assisting with reroofing, rebuilding community centers, and reconstructing homes that were completely destroyed. Our mission is to support victims of Hurricane Dorian in Abaco by ensuring their safety and well-being through emergency and tactical relief. This includes: . Rent deposits . School tuition . Humanitarian aid such as clothing, furniture, food, water, shoes, school supplies, bicycles, toys, and gift cards We work to secure safe housing for those whose homes were affected, providing: . Home repairs . Mold remediation . Complete home rebuilds . Reroofing . Generators . Building materials for residents, schools, churches, and community parks In addition, ARF offers practical, medical, emotional, and spiritual trauma support to help facilitate the recovery process. We bring communities together by hosting events featuring celebrations, meals, beverages, music, donation distributions, and special guest appearances. To date, we have donated over 100 bicycles, more than 100 stuffed stockings and children's Bibles, over 1,000 textbooks and workbooks, clothing, more than 500 pairs of shoes, warm meals, and-most importantly-a great deal of love at these events. In 2024, building on our experiences in Abaco, ARF consulted with agencies in Thailand and the Philippines to share best practices for disaster relief. That same year, ARF also participated in providing relief aid in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.
