Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $86,412 spent. The foundation successfully procured and delivered $66,870 in specialized surgical equipment and medical supplies to the Otolaryngology program in Malawi, supporting comprehensive care for both adult and pediatric populations. During a dedicated 10-day surgical mission, a team of volunteer medical professionals from the United States performed over 50 complex surgical procedures while providing intensive on-site clinical education to local surgeons on the management of advanced otolaryngologic diseases. Throughout the year, these combined efforts and resource distributions directly impacted approximately 200 patients. The organization continues to fulfill its objective of strengthening local healthcare systems through financial grants for medical trainees, infrastructure development, and the ongoing provision of surgical materials and professional training to ensure sustainable specialty care in underserved regions. In addition, the foundation provided $11,400 in grant support to several surgical trainees from the United States to foster further care and interest in international work and to assist in the organization of the patient care while deployed for the missiont trip. All non-trainee and all trainees who did not qualify for a resident trainee grant donated all of their own time, travel expenses, or obtained support from other sources to volunteer in the organization. No dollar amount regarding volunteered time or travel expenses for any participant have been included in the values reported in this Form 990.
