Programs described in its return (1)
- $450,158 spent. In 2025, Mariposa Family Learning Center (MFLC) continued its mission to empower families to raise strong, healthy children who are ready to learn. MFLC offered comprehensive preschool services on a full-day basis operating five days a week for a total of 253 days in 2025. Our program served 34 children from 27 households accommodating them in two dedicated classrooms. Located in the Montopolis community - an area identified as a childcare desert - MFLC served families who often face significant barriers to accessing high-quality early childhood education. Through our commitment to equitable access, family partnership, and nature-based learning, MFLC provided a nurturing, bilingual learning environment where children and families can thrive. MFLC proudly maintained its Texas Rising Star Four-Star Quality Rating, the highest quality designation available in the State. This distinction reflects our commitment to excellence in early childhood education, including highly qualified educators, developmentally appropriate curriculum, strong family engagement, and continuous quality improvement. Families in our community can trust that their children are receiving the highest standard of early learning and care. Our fully bilingual program ensures that children and families are welcomed and supported in both English and Spanish. We provide culturally responsive learning materials and support parents in becoming their childs first and most important teacher. Through programs such as family literacy activities, parent engagement sessions, and take-home learning resources, MFLC helps strengthen the connection between learning at school and learning at home. Beyond the classroom, MFLC plays a critical role in stabilizing and strengthening families. We work closely with parents to connect them to essential resources including food assistance, diapers, employment referrals, and access to therapeutic services for children when needed. By welcoming outside therapists and specialists onto our campus, we help families access critical interventions without missing work or disrupting their child's learning environment. At MFLC we expanded our snack program to include daily breakfast and lunch at no charge. This relieves a significant burden on our families and ensures our students begin healthy habits now. MFLC also prioritizes access and affordability. In a city where the average cost of childcare approaches $1,900 per month, many families would otherwise be unable to participate in high-quality early education. Through our need-based tuition model and support from donors and community partners, we ensure that families contribute what they can while their children still receive exceptional care and education. Throughout 2025, MFLC continued to serve as a trusted community hub - supporting young learners, empowering parents, and building stronger families. MFLC operated the Colorado Room as a community gathering area. MFLC allowed families and charitable organizations to rent the room for community gatherings at no cost or low charge. By combining high-quality early childhood education with meaningful family support services, MFLC helps ensure that children in our community enter school confident, prepared, and ready to succeed.
