Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $5,815 spent. The MET Singers, consisting of students from grades 3 to 12 from public, private, charter, and homeschool backgrounds, perform as the Celebration Youth Chorus in the Nashville Symphony's annual program, Let Freedom Sing. This event honors the legacy of community building fostered by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The performance features both the (adult) Celebration Chorus and the orchestra and is directed by a nationally recognized conductor. It aims to provide rich musical experiences in a formal performance setting at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
  2. $13,613 spent. The We Are Nashville Festival program features elementary, middle, and high school choral and instrumental ensembles from local schools in an educational engagement involving multiple directors. The full-day agenda includes guest artist workshops and rehearsals, culminating in an evening closing performance at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
  3. Choral Arts Link, partnering with Kelly Corcoran's orchestral ensemble, Intersection, presents the annual program "Upon These Shoulders." The MET Singers participate in in-person sessions with honorees, gaining insights into their legacies within both local and national communities. Performances by Intersection and the W. Crimm Singers are held separately as well as in conjunction with the MET Singers at Fisk University Memorial Chapel.
