What it says it does

The Organization's purpose is to bring participants into the inner city to educate, expose, challenge, and motivate them to respond to issues and concerns facing the increasingly urban world. By experiencing God's love in new ways, we can share and demonstrate alternatives to the evils of racism, poverty, and violence that tear down or communities and lives.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $24,325 spent. Groups (typically high school students) from rural congregations come to urban centers to do voluntary charitable maintenance work, participate in educational activities, volunteer at not-for-profit social service agencies, and participate in activities that promote interracial and intercultural understanding and harmony.
  2. UpNext is a program for young adults who want to explore on a deeper level how their faith interacts with their commitmen to justice. Our cohort of young adult leaders and their mentors apply POC-affirming models of Christian leadership to make a positive impact in their community. With UpNext, DOOR is committed to equipping youth to become leaders of faith able to meet the needs of their communities both inside and outside of the traditional church model.
