Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $98,074 spent. Capitol Theatre:We provide entertainment to our community through the showing of a variety of current movies on weekend nights. We operate with two part-time employees and three to four volunteers each night. Depending on the movie being shown, we will have an attendance of anywhere from 5-120+ people in one night. We operate our concessions and provide fresh, hot pizzas, popcorn, candy and soda for sale to our customers.
  2. $15,675 spent. Power Pak 4 Kids: This program provides services to primary school age children K-6. The program provides nutritional snacks for the 3-day weekend when children are not in school. The program has grown considerably over the years and serves nearly all of the school districts in our county. We also provide a healthy snack for the weekends throughout the summer break during the months of Mid-May through August.
  3. $1,086 spent. Springfield Community for Families: This program sponsors family-friendly events and activities in our community. We sponsor seasonal events such as a Pumpkin Shine before halloween, which gives kids and parents a chance to celebrate the holiday in a safe manner by having a costume parade, costume contests, pumpkin decorating contests with prizes to the winners. Pizza and drinks are also offered to participants at no charge to them. We also offer a free movie and a visit from santa at Christmas, along with a goody bag of fruit and candy handed out to the children. We are trying to get things going again post-Covid and hope to come up with new, fun events for families.
