What it says it does

Just One International is a nonprofit committed to breaking cycles of poverty through education. We believe education is the key to empowering families to rise above their circumstances. Our model is simple: to partner with families and holistically support scholars through secondary education and into stable careers. If scholars land placement into professional-level jobs, families will be better positioned for generations to come.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $358,932 spent. Scholarship Program - In 2024, Just One served 116 scholars providing them access to higher education. We paid for their schooling at local public and private institutions. Additionally, we provided holistic services at our Just One location including counseling, medical insurance, dental insurance, library access, computer lab, art classes, music classes, and other extracurricular activities. Some scholars that were living in high levels of poverty received additional financial support for food, electricity, and water. It costs $450/month for all of the programming for each scholar.
  2. $6,531 spent. No Hungry Home - Each month in 2024, our staff and scholars distributed food bags to families in our community. Each bag costs $17 to make and feeds a family of four for two weeks. The bag includes essential hygiene items as well, including soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toilet paper. We delivered approximately 300 bags over the course of the year to families in need.
  3. $5,129 spent. Pila Project - The Pila Project worked to provide clean, running water to families in need. In Honduras, direct access to water is not a given. It is expensive and scarce with many homes going weeks without direct access to water. Pilas change that reality. A pila serves as a family's primary source of water collection. They allow them to store water to use for cooking, bathing, and washing dishes and clothes. In Honduras, plumbing and in-home running water are uncommon amenities, making day-to-day tasks difficult and even unsafe. Just One's pilas are designed to connect to government-provided water systems and collect rainwater, effectively closing the gap between families and clean water.
