What it says it does

Committed to the desire to support other young people who have been made to feel like their voices do not matter, Katrina and Lexi founded Lexi's Voice in November 2017. Through Lexi's Voice, youth, especially those who have been victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse or other traumas, are given the unique opportunity to find comfort and healing through ongoing interactions with animals

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $18,157 spent. Over the last several years, we have been able to offer Fun with Friends meetups, the goal of which is to help participants make social connections, deepen existing relationships, and grow their self-confidence. During the summer, Fun with Friends takes place weekly. During the school year, it takes place approximately every-other week. All Fun with Friends sessions include a meal or snack, and most are open to family and friends. Fun with Friends activities can include fun, all-expenses-paid excursions. Destinations have included a princess tea party, the Kuehnert Dairy Farm, a train ride with ice cream, and much more. During the winter months, we often meet at a church in southeast Fort Wayne, where participants interact with our rescue rabbits and participate in games, discussions, and empowerment activities. Many of the young people we serve do not engage in outings like this on their own due to financial and other access barriers. Moreover, they may feel uncertain in large, social settings. Having Lexi's Voice friends with them makes them feel more confident. We are thrilled to provide them with these much-deserved opportunities to be playful and have fun! We also host themed Fun with Friends celebratory events. Most events take place at Blackstone Ranch, where attendees have the opportunity to participate in various stations, which may include craft activities, games, horse and donkey rides, story time, snacks, photography, etc. Participants love and look forward to these events because they give them the opportunity to bring along their loved ones and showcase the progress they have made.
