Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $5,620 spent. Subscription Concert Series. A series of six concerts were given to the general public. Over 1,000 people attended the concerts over the course of the year. The programs are chosen both to entertain and to educate the audience on the long tradition of British-style brass band playing.
  2. $2,540 spent. The band participated in the North American Brass Band Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in April. We received awards for full band, small ensemble and solo participants.
  3. $2,371 spent. Youth Program. Colorado Brass held two Youth Weekends during the year. Students attended on the Saturday, where they received tuition from members if the band and rehearsed music chosen by the musical director. On the Sunday, we held a joint concert, where the youth performed alone and with the full band. Over 40 students (mostly high school age, with some middle school and college age) participated in each event.
