Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $1.7 million spent. BEYOND HOUSING PROGRAM (BHP) IN 2024, PAL HAWAI'I'S BEYOND HOUSING PROGRAM (BHP) CONTINUED ITS MISSION OF STABILIZING TENANTS THROUGH SERVICE-ENRICHED AFFORDABLE HOUSING. THE PROGRAM SERVED 29 HOUSEHOLDS, CONSISTING OF 41 ADULTS AND 21 CHILDREN, ACROSS THE KAUHALE O KEKAHA AND KAUHALE O KAPA'A RENTAL COMMUNITIES. OUR CASE MANAGEMENT TEAM CONDUCTED 639 INDIVIDUALIZED CASE MANAGEMENT MEETINGS, ENSURING THAT EVERY HOUSEHOLD RECEIVED TAILORED SUPPORT ALIGNED WITH THEIR PERSONAL GOALS AND NEEDS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)
  2. LINE 4A - FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT (CONTINUED) DURING THE YEAR, TWO HOUSELESS FAMILIES SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITIONED INTO PERMANENT HOUSING, SUPPORTED THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL EDUCATION, AND COORDINATED REFERRALS TO ESSENTIAL SERVICES- HELPING THEM ACHIEVE LASTING HOUSING STABILITY. KEY OUTCOMES FOR 2024 INCLUDE: 89% OF HOUSEHOLDS MAINTAINED STABLE HOUSING. 85% OF HOUSEHOLDS REMAINED IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH OCCUPANCY AGREEMENTS, RECEIVING ZERO NOTICES OF VIOLATION. 50% OF HOUSEHOLDS PARTICIPATED IN AT LEAST ONE EDUCATIONAL OR LIFE-SKILLS WORKSHOP. ON AVERAGE, 93% OF HOUSEHOLDS PAID SEPARATELY METERED UTILITIES ON TIME EACH MONTH. 100% OF TENANTS APPLIED FOR HOUSING SUBSIDIES WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF RESIDENCY. 100% OF EMPLOYMENT-ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS WERE EMPLOYED WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF MOVE-IN. 100% OF ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS APPLIED FOR DISABILITY BENEFITS, SNAP, AND QUEST MEDICAL INSURANCE WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF RESIDENCY. 100% OF HOUSEHOLDS OPENED BOTH CHECKING AND SAVINGS ACCOUNTS WITH A LOCAL CREDIT UNION WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF MOVE-IN. 76% OF HOUSEHOLDS COMPLETED A FINANCIAL CONSULTATION WITHIN ONE YEAR OF RESIDENCY. THESE OUTCOMES WERE MEASURED THROUGH A COMBINATION OF CASE MANAGER OBSERVATIONS, CLIENT INTERVIEWS, SURVEYS, DOORLOOP PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DATA, AND ATTENDANCE REPORTS. IN 2024, PAL HAWAI'I ALSO CELEBRATED A MAJOR ORGANIZATIONAL MILESTONE: 10 HOMES WERE PLACED INTO THE HO'OMALUHIA COMMUNITY LAND TRUST (HCLT), GUARANTEEING THEIR PERMANENT AFFORDABILITY FOR GENERATIONS AND PROTECTING LOCAL FAMILIES FROM DISPLACEMENT. FURTHER EXPANDING ITS IMPACT, PAL PURCHASED SIX LOTS FOR THE KAUHALE O KALAHEO PROJECT, EFFECTIVELY DOUBLING THE ORIGINAL NUMBER OF HOMES PLANNED FOR CONSTRUCTION. IN ADDITION, PAL'S CONSTRUCTION TEAM COMPLETED THE NEW BEYOND HOUSING CENTER AT KAUHALE O KEKAHA, A DEDICATED SPACE DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY CONNECTION AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE CENTER INCLUDES: A CONFERENCE ROOM FOR WORKSHOPS AND COMMUNITY MEETINGS, A COMPUTER LAB TO EXPAND DIGITAL ACCESS FOR EDUCATION AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, AND A PRIVATE OFFICE WHERE THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR PROVIDES ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT TO RESIDENTS. TOGETHER, THESE INITIATIVES REFLECT PAL HAWAI'I'S ONGOING COMMITMENT TO NOT ONLY BUILD HOUSING BUT TO NURTURE STABILITY, EMPOWERMENT, AND COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ACROSS KAUA'I.
