Keep Oakland Beautiful is a 100% volunteer-led non-profit organization working to create and sustain a beautiful clean green and litter-free Oakland through education community engagement volunteer action and cleanup initiatives. So far in 2025 weve held community beautification events that engaged over 300 volunteers and removed 7 TONS of trash from city spaces. Education - We collaborate with the City of Oakland and local on-profits aligned with our mission to disseminate helpful information with the community regarding best practices on recycling sustainability and "Zero Litter". We organize and support city-wide cleanups throughout the year activating direct community involvement and action. We track our volunteers and pounds of trash collected and also provide their cleaning supplies.We support community engagement and volunteering through our annual Community Grants program where we fund Oakland Adopt-A-Spot beautification projects an Daffodil Days bulb giveaway.

ProgramsKeep Oakland Beautiful awards micro community grants to local projects across diverse Oakland neighborhoods. These grants make a big impact and help the community give back to their neighborhoods. These environmental projects increase public safety protect food production and sustainability create accessibility to public spaces for those with differing mobility restore native habitats connect youth with their community gardens and create incredible green spaces for all. In the last two years Keep Oakland Beautiful has awarded 28 grants totaling over $21,000.EngagementKeep Oakland Beautiful organizes and supports city-wide cleanups throughout the year activating direct community involvement and action. KOB provides cleaning supplies manages volunteers and tracks pounds of trash collected. In 2024 KOB held events that attracted over 500 volunteers picked up over 2,000 pounds of litter and planted 85 trees.EducationKeep Oakland Beautiful collaborates with the City of Oakland and other local non-profits who are aligned with the goal of providing helpful information to the community regarding best practices.
