Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, PROJECT INDIANA WORKED WITH COOPERA ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE TO IDENTIFY A REPAIR SOLUTION FOR ITS SOLE GENERATION SOURCE, A HYDRO ELECTRIC GENERATOR. THE GENERATOR HAD BEEN INOPERABLE FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS. IN AUGUST, FOUR PROJECT INDIANA VOLUNTEER LINEWORKERS ASSISTED THE COOPERATIVE WITH INSPECTION AND REPAIRS TO THE DISTRIBUTION INFRASTRUCTURE THAT HAD BEEN UNENERGIZED SINCE THE GENERATOR STOPPED WORKING. REPAIRS TO THE GENERATOR WERE COMPLETE IN DECEMBER AND THE SEVEN VILLAGES SERVED BY THE COOPERATIVE WERE RE-ENERGIZED IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS. ALSO THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, PROJECT INDIANA VOLUNTEERS WORKED WITH GUATEMALAN ENERGY ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS TO ESTABLISH MECHANISMS FOR ELECTRIC COOPERATIVES TO BE RECOGNIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT AS LEGITIMATE ELECTRIC UTILITIES.
