Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $108,411 spent. Led weekly goal-oriented group running/walking programs for approximately 1300 clients in various Los Angeles area addiction treatment programs. Many of these participants completed public events ranging in distance from 5Ks to the Los Angeles Marathon, as well as fun runs hosted by Strides in Recovery. Participants reported benefits including increased self-confidence and self-esteem; an opportunity to practice life skills such as perseverance, goal-setting, and overcoming obstacles; an enhanced sense of belonging and self-worth by being part of a team; and gaining a strategy (regular exercise) for alleviating common relapse triggers such as stress, depression and anxiety. These sessions are the source of our program revenue.
