What it says it does

The Mavericks Community Foundation is an Arizona Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO). Individuals' charitable contributions made directly to a QCO provide dollar-for-dollar tax benefits, allowing taxpayers to reduce their Arizona tax liabilities for each dollar donated, up to the maximum allowable limits. These dollars directed to the MCF allows us to help individuals with immediate needs and grant assistance right away, as opposed to the giving structure in the West Valley Mavericks Foundation which is annual and to organization through a grant application.

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $33,500 spent. In 2025, the Mavericks Community Foundation Inc. successfully fulfilled its mission as an Arizona Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) by providing immediate, direct financial assistance to residents of the West Valley facing critical hardships. The foundation's primary accomplishment involved distributing over 50% of its raised funds to support the basic needs of low-income families, individuals receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), and children with chronic illnesses or physical disabilities. By leveraging the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, the organization facilitated local giving that directly funded emergency relief for housing, utilities, and medical expenses, as well as student emergency programs at institutions like GateWay Community College
