Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

  1. $39,550 spent. Food Distribution We have several food distribution models: 1. Drive-through food distributions 2. On-site delivery to older adult residents on a quarterly basis. 3. Emergency food pantry at The Senior Source 3910 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas 75219 4. Food distribution at events held by our partner organizations (quarterly). Healthy Steps Recipe Kit Program/Health and Wellness Series The goal is educating people on how to better utilize items received from a food pantry or food distribution to make healthier meals, and to encourage shoppers to make better nutrition choices. Each recipient will be required to fill in a series of surveys so that we can track the effectiveness of the program. The program will distribute three recipe kits to each recipient over a period of six months. The recipe kit will include a recipe card approved by a dietician and a nutritionist and all the ingredients necessary to complete the recipe. We also strive to serve the whole person with opportunities to maintain their dignity, enhance socialization, and provide education on health and wellness. We offer health and wellness online seminars and in person workshops. Young Ambassador Program Launched in the summer of 2021, the Young Ambassador Program facilitates intergenerational relationships. We encourage the young ambassadors towards civic engagement, social responsibility, and community service using their unique talents and skills. The young ambassadors range in age from 8 years old to college students. Over 40 participants from local high schools, colleges and youth and family ministries around the metroplex both parents and children, attended each Young Ambassador Event.
