This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

- $18,910 spent. We host shows, performances and workshops in accordance with our mission. These take the form of small group workshops, open mics, and larger benefit concerts. - $50,193 spent. Our Executive Director, Ned Buskirk, is contracted through YG2D by UCSF Art For Recovery program to bring creative writing workshops to cancer patients at UCSF. Ned sees approximately 50 patients per week, roughly 20% are repeat visits, and serves these patients 3 days a week.
- $74,146 spent. Alive Inside is our prison program. We work inside prisons, including San Quentin, Richard J Donovan, and California Men's Colony in California to bring music, creative writing workshops, and performance opportunities to incarcerated individuals. Our Executive Director, Ned Buskirk, is a weekly facilitator for the Light Keepers, a peer support suicide prevention program inside San Quentin. Our team also works with groups of exonerated individuals who were wrongfully convicted, through workshops and retreats with the Ohio Innocence Project. In 2024 we facilitated a program at the annual Innocence Network Conference, and our Alive Inside program served approximately 400 incarcerated or exonerated individuals and their family members.
