Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $396,921 spent. K-8 Programs for Youth: We offer after-school programs and summer camps for youth in grades K-8, who learn speech and debate and participate in community events (such as showcases and tournaments). These programs help young people feel confident with oral communication. Students practice a wide range of public speaking modalities to gain positive memories around public speaking. They experience presentations, debate, acting, advocacy speeches, poetry, podcasting, and more, and practice regularly each week with coach feedback. In 2024, we served roughly 400 participants through workshops twice per week, year-round.
  2. $171,900 spent. High School Programs for Youth: We offer after-school programs and summer camps for high school youth in grades 9-12, who participate in competitive speech and debate teams, storytelling and poetry clubs, career development opportunities, and leadership development programs. They also receive training to learn how to facilitate and coach younger students. Through interactive practice and safe learning environments, youth develop their voices and prepare for public performance opportunities. In 2024, we served roughly 284 participants through weekly workshops year-round.
  3. $127,503 spent. Adult Workshops, Curriculum, and Coaching: We partner with businesses, nonprofits and school districts to offer customized workshops, curriculum, and coaching to enhance communication in the workplace. Participants work with a coach to build skills around pitches, storytelling, discussion, presentations, and keynotes. Workshops also help participants with speech writing, oral delivery, anxiety-coping, and adapting to their audiences. Our curriculum helps organizations launch and implement programs that support community voice. Our work with school districts helps teachers facilitate student voice and increase engagement and literacy in the classrooms. Overall, our adult work provides tips and techniques that they can immediately apply to their jobs and practice implementing coach feedback. In 2024, we served roughly 300 adult participants in 2024.
