Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $354,675 spent. A Shared Vision is the leading provider of early intervention vision services in Colorado, supporting infants and toddlers from birth to age three who have blindness or low vision. Through partnerships with 17 of Colorado's 20 Early Intervention Brokers and Early Intervention Colorado, the organization serves 60 counties representing approximately 82% of the state's birth-to-three population, including many rural communities where specialized vision services would otherwise be limited or unavailable. In some regions, A Shared Vision is the only provider of early intervention vision services. In 2025, A Shared Vision supported 182 children and families and provided 1,585 educational service visits through a flexible service delivery model that included home visits, community-based services, telehealth, and rapid-access "Quick Response" visits following referral. Services are delivered by a team of 12 licensed Early Intervention Teachers of the Visually Impaired (EI-TVIs) and are aligned with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Services focus on strengthening caregiver-child interaction, supporting developmental milestones, and building foundational skills that contribute to kindergarten readiness and long-term developmental success. Recognizing caregivers as a child's most important early teachers, A Shared Vision equips families with practical strategies and support to promote learning within everyday routines and natural environments. Services include Functional Vision Assessments (FVAs), family assessments, transition planning from IDEA Part C to Part B services, consultation during ophthalmology appointments, hospital consultation, specialty co-visits, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A Shared Vision also strengthens early identification efforts across Colorado through its Education Program and Vision Screening Protocol(C). The organization trains early intervention providers, evaluation teams, and pediatric professionals to recognize signs of blindness or low vision and improve referrals to specialized services. Since 2020, more than 1,400 professionals have been trained on the Vision Screening Protocol(C), which is used statewide and continues to see steady adoption, particularly in rural communities and among programs experiencing staff turnover. In addition to direct services, A Shared Vision strengthens Colorado's early intervention system through professional development, transdisciplinary collaboration, and internship opportunities focused on pediatric blindness and low vision.
